Irish Poker Open

Established in 1981, the Irish Open is Europe’s longest running poker tournament and in 2007 it became its largest. A record breaking field of 708 players went to Dublin to sample the tournament’s unique atmosphere and compete for over €2.3 million in prize money.

The 2008 event sees the Irish Open expand with an increased buy-in, capacity and guaranteed prizepool. To accommodate the huge demand for tickets, this year’s tournament will be split into two Day 1s; allowing for a capacity of 1,000 players.

Online qualification began on paddypowerpoker.com on Monday 13th August with a full schedule of daily feeders to fortnightly satellites.

Your Key to a Poker Fortune!

Are you serious about making money at online poker?

Yes.

Then there is only one place that you should start - and that’s .

Why?

Well, basically, there are two main reasons:

1 - PartyPoker.com is the biggest poker site in the world by far. It has over 70,000 players on the site every single day playing poker and the number is growing all the time, because of the TV poker coverage and the massive publicity the game is generating.

2 - Out of these massive numbers of daily players online at Party Poker, a very high percentage are either absolute beginners or woefully inexperienced poker players. This represents a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is willing and able to learn a basic strategy.

There is a proven method for winning at Party Poker. Not some crappy theory that somebody has dreamt up without even playing on the site, but an actual working system that you can take and use to clean up at Party Poker.

If you want to take your poker profits to the next level and make a serious income from the game we all love, Click here to learn more about making a living by playing at Party Poker.

P.S. This isn’t cheating Party Poker in any way (they still get their money), but with this information to hand you will be making so much money that you will almost certainly feel like a bit of a Party Poker cheat!

The Worst Poker Room on the Net

In my opinion the worst poker room on the internet is….

You probably haven’t heard of it. Don’t be suprised. The advertising is non-existant. Ex-players (like myself) will not promote it and it seems the management is happy with its current ‘community’ of players.

Some of my reasons for disliking it:

It is not just me that thinks the above… here are some reviews from respected poker-review sites.

Follow-up to Unlucky

Following my previous post about being unlucky, a couple of things have happened.

1) My run has now stretched to 12
2) I’ve analysed hand histories

I have arrived at the two following conclusions:

a) I am going through a very unlucky spell at the site (whether it is generated by the owners I can’t say, but I HAVE complained a few times in the past, so can’t rule it out).
b) The players on the site are the worst I have ever played against (not counting my wife and daughter).

Part ‘a’ needs no explanation, but I will explain part ‘b’ in more depth.

It is one of the smallest poker rooms on the net, never averaging more than about 2700 players on site at a time. I couldn’t understand why when I started playing there, because the software, in my opinion is the best, but now I know why.

Looking through the hand histories… not only on the hands I had the beats on, but most of the others too… I saw a similar pattern - time after time after time, at least one player won by fishing or playing a VERY weak hand i.e. calling a pot-sized bet holding 2-2 or 3-3 with 3 over cards on the flop and catching a set on the turn or the river.

Obviously, I don’t know how many got ‘pushed off’ a hand, because I don’t have that software which shows everyone’s hands (If you have a copy, I would like to trial it!), but judging by the strength of some of the other hands that were called with (JKos to a 5 times blind raise, A7os to a 4 times big blind raise, etc), I’m betting it wasn’t many.

How long my run of ‘bad luck’ lasts for, only time (and money) will tell. I know one thing for sure… When the remainder of my latest bonus award has paid, I will instantly cash out and won’t be playing there any longer!

NOTE:
I haven’t had a reply from the poker room manager about their RNG, so until such time I shall not provide any links to the site concerned, nor will I mention which one it is. Personal friends of mine know which one it is. If anyone contacts me directly, I well tell them, but, as I said before, to protect the site’s integrity, I will not mention their name in a public arena such as this site.
